The Underdog Conspiracy "S/T demo" (Self)****

They don't write no stinkin love songs! They write great punk songs! Honestly, this band from Kansas City has put out a great record. The production on the album is in good quality and the songs are carefully crafted. Cliffy Huntington said The Underdog Conspiracy sound like old Screeching Weasel. I can see the resemblance in the vocals, but I think they lean more toward bands like Nofx, Value Pac, Dogwood, and Bad Religion. The Underdog Conspiracy can play really great fast stuff like "Paradise Lost" and "Ignorance is Bliss" and still pull off catchy pop tunes like "Will in Mind" and "The Storm is Now". I also like the fact that they can change tempo really well and the guitar riffs and leads are really cool. Lyrically, the songs deal with different things, but in essence they stay focused to the message of Christ. I encourage you to check out the songs at their site on MP3.com (http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/78/the_underdog_conspiracy.html) and buy a copy of the cd. I haven't stopped listening to it!
